Disconnect Status


If your account is in disconnect status or has been shut off, do not use the online or phone payment methods. Please come into our office to pay.

Online Bill Payment


Please note that the payment information for your account is uploaded only once per month, when we bill. The online system does not reflect any payments, adjustments or penalties applied to your account between billings.

Making Online Payments


The City of Lafayette offers an online Citizen Self Service payment portal: https://selfservice.lafayette.in.gov
where you can make your utility payments. Please allow 2 to 3 business days for the payment to post to your account. Payments submitted after noon may not be processed until the next business day.

Paying After the Due Date


If you are paying after the due date please call our office at 765-807-1100 for your current balance.

Credit & Debit Cards


The City of Lafayette is not accepting credit or debit cards for online bill payment or telephone payment services at this time. Credit & Debit cards may only be used in the Billing Office with photo ID.

Automatic Withdrawal Bill Payment


Automatic withdrawal is now offered to all of our customers. You can have your payment automatically made for you without writing a check, paying for postage, telephoning your bank or logging onto the Internet.

How It Works


  • After signing up you will receive notification of the payment amount 10 days before the withdrawal date in the form of your billing statement.
  • On the payment due date, your payment will be withdrawn from the specified checking or savings account.
  • Your payment is made with no hassles and no late fees.

Signing Up for Automatic Withdrawal


To sign up for automatic withdrawal, please print and complete the Bank Draft Authorization Form (PDF) or the
Forma Bancaria Para Pagos Automáticos (Español) (PDF). Return the completed form with the appropriate documentation to:

Cancelling Automatic Withdrawal


To discontinue automatic withdrawal please print and complete the Bank Draft Form for Canceling Automatic Payment (PDF) or the Forma Bancaria Para Anular Pagos Automáticos (Español) (PDF). Return the completed form to:
