The Lafayette Police Department is providing free training to the public on the topic of Dangerous Narcotics: Heroin and Spice. This will include information regarding the drugs themselves and an insight into the community’s efforts in combatting these hazardous substances. The date and time for this training will be Friday, November 20th, at 6:00pm. The training will take place at the Lafayette City Council Chambers, 20 N 6th St, and will be presented by LPD officers specializing in narcotics investigations.
This class in meant to increase understanding, awareness and to learn the dangers of local drug use in our community. It will focus on the more dangerous and abused drugs of heroin and spice and their manufacture and prevalence in our community. Other drugs will be discussed, but with the increased use of these two drugs that are causing serious medical problems, increased property and violent crimes, and even death; the focus will be on them.
We are excited about this opportunity to continue to educate and learn from the community and to reduce crime in Lafayette with our mutual partnership.
Anybody interested in attending this training is asked to reserve a seat using the following link: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2444402. Seating is limited to 140 people.
