On the above date at approximately 4:48am, Officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to the 800 block of Cincinnati Street due to a report of a male armed with a handgun entering a residence and threatening the occupants. One of the residents fled the scene with the armed suspect male reportedly still in the area possibly giving chase. Responding officers arrived and detained several subjects.
Three of the subjects detained were Darius Williams, Carnesha Pittman and Timothy Sandifer. All three were later arrested for various charges. Police also located evidence that a handgun was used during the incident. It is believed that all parties were acquainted and this was not a random act. One of the occupants reported he was struck several times with the handgun during the incident receiving minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
Darius Williams was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.
Carnesha Pittman was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
Timothy Sandifer was arrested for Residential Entry and Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon.
A child was present in the home when the incident occurred. The Department of Children’s Services arrived on scene and assisted with placement of the child.
