[ARCHIVED] LPD Investigates Two Overnight Robberies

On Saturday November 14, 2015 at approximately 2326 hours, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a reported armed robbery in the area of 11th/Main. The victim reported that he had been walking downtown when he was approached by a black male wearing all black clothing. The suspect brandished a knife and demanded property. The suspect then fled the area on foot, after taking items from the victim. The victim was not injured in this incident. The suspect is outstanding at this time.

At approximately 0234 hours on Sunday November 15, officers were sent to the 800-block of N. 6th Street regarding another armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim had been robbed at gunpoint. The victim reported that personal property was stolen, as well as the victim’s vehicle. The stolen vehicle is described as a white Buick Lesabre with a maroon top. The suspects, described as two black males wearing all dark clothing, fled from the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The suspects are outstanding at this time.
