[ARCHIVED] VIllage Pantry Robbery and Arrest

For Immediate Release


On 1/11/2016 at approximately 2320hrs, Blue Night and Street Crime Unit Officers responded to the Village Pantry at 6 S 9th St in reference to a robbery. Upon arrival, Officers located a male matching the description of the suspect fleeing the area. Officers caught the male after a short foot pursuit and he was detained. The male was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm in which he has a valid concealed carry permit.

The male was identified as Brian Williams with the date of birth of 12/12/1988. Williams was found to be in possession of two packs of cigarettes and undisclosed amount of money both of which were reported stolen from the Village Pantry. Witnesses on scene identified Williams as the suspect.

Williams was arrested for robbery while armed with a deadly weapon and theft.

The fact a person has been arrested or charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
