On Sunday, February 28th, at 4:08am, the Lafayette Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of the 900-block of Julia Ln. When officers arrived, they located several individuals that reported one subject had been firing a handgun in the area. The individuals that remained at the scene advised that there had been a disturbance at a residence prior to shots being fired. Officers located shell casings and a vehicle that had been damaged by a bullet during the incident. There is no description of the shooter at this time. From the investigation so far, it does not appear to be a random incident.
