At approximately 5:30pm on the above date, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to the 1600-block of Hart Street for multiple reports of shots fired. After further investigation, responding officers determined that the location involved was in the 1900-block of North 16th Street. Officers located and detained 5 subjects believed to be involved with several shots being fired after some type of argument outside near the residence. It is not believed that anyone was struck by gunfire or anyone was injured.
Officers obtained and served a search warrant at the residences involved in the investigation. During the execution of this search warrant two handguns were located. Two of the five subjects detained were arrested on various charges. DCS was called to the scene for three children who were at the residence at the time of the incident.
