[ARCHIVED] Fugitive Wanted for Murder Arrested

On July 6th, at approximately 10:31am, the Lafayette Police Department arrested a subject that was wanted on a warrant out of Indianapolis. During routine patrol, officers located a vehicle in violation of a city ordinance regarding abandoned and stored vehicles. After a check of the vehicle’s license plate, officers were alerted to the vehicle being associated with the fugitive. It also indicated that the warrant was for Conspiracy to Commit Murder and Assisting a Criminal.

Officers observed the vehicle leaving the area of 28th St. A traffic stop was conducted a short time later and the suspect, identified as Mario Pierre Harris (26 years old and of Chicago, IL), was taken into custody near State Rd 38 E and Sagamore Pkwy. The warrant was confirmed through the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the suspect was transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail.
