On the morning of Sunday, July 10th, at around 2:40 am, the Lafayette Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of the Eckman Place. Upon arrival, police located a man who had been shot, 24-year-old Clyde Greyer Jr., who was inside the residence at 2512 Eckman Pl. Greyer appeared to have sustained two gunshot wounds to his torso.
Crime scene investigators collected evidence from the apartment and surrounding areas outside the residence. Investigators identified witnesses and obtained statements. Greyer was transported to St. Elizabeth East hospital and later air-lifted to St. Vincent hospital in Indianapolis.
Later, around 8:45 pm Sunday evening, police were alerted of a second possible shooting victim from the same incident. St. Elizabeth Hospital called to report 25-year-old Lucas Streeter admitted himself to the emergency room with a single gunshot wound to his right leg. Streeter reported having been shot during the same event as Greyer.
The investigation has been turned over to detectives and is on-going.
