[ARCHIVED] Shots Fired Arrests

On Sunday, July 17th at about 8:00 pm, the Lafayette Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Banstead Court for a report of shots fired in the area. Police arrived and quickly identified the people involved, none of which were injured or struck by bullets.

The investigation revealed there had been an argument between two men, Kale Robinson 27 and Robert Moore 28, both with Banstead Court addresses. The argument escalated to where Kale Robinson is alleged to have fired a gun into the air, then toward the direction of Moore. A bullet fired by Robinson hit a parked vehicle. There was no one in the vehicle when it was struck by the bullet.

Officers developed probable cause to arrest Robinson for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. As police investigated the matter, Moore continued to argue and make threats toward Robinson. Police arrested Moore for threats.

Both men were taken into custody. There were no injuries reported.

The fact a person has been arrested or charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
