Robbery Arrest – 1000 Block of Columbia Street
The Lafayette Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery occurring in the 1000 block of Columbia Street on Saturday, August 27th at around 5:00 pm. Police arrived and spoke to the female victim, who reported a black male knocked on her door and then shoved his way inside her apartment. The reported victim said the alleged suspect pointed a gun at her while he stole her ring off her finger and demanded money. The alleged suspect fled without injuring the victim. The victim called the police to report the incident.
Police arrived and developed a suspect lead. Police officers investigated the incident throughout the evening and arrested 18-year-old Michael Jovan Jackson Jr. for Robbery. Jackson was also arrested for Resisting Law Enforcement and had an outstanding fugitive warrant.
