[ARCHIVED] Heroin Dealing Arrest

An extensive investigation by the Tippecanoe County Drug Task Force and the Lafayette Police Street Crimes Unit into the dealing and distribution of heroin in and around Lafayette was concluded last Thursday, September 8th, with a traffic stop and the arrest of Nelson Rapheal Dunmars (22 years old and of Chicago, IL). The traffic stop occurred on September 8th at 5:58pm on I-65 southbound at State Rd 25 N. After stopping the vehicle, officers with the Street Crimes Unit spoke with the driver, identified as Nelson Dunmars. Dunmars was eventually arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail. During the book-in procedure, it was discovered Dunmars had concealed 24 grams of heroin inside his person.

Arrested:
Nelson Rapheal Dunmars
- Dealing in Heroin >10g (Level 2 Felony)
- Possession of Marijuana (A Misdemeanor)

Additional charges related to this investigation will be forthcoming.
