On Wednesday, October 19th around 1:30 pm Lafayette Police responded to a report of a residential entry in the 2300 block of Southhaven Blvd. The reported victim called LPD dispatch and said a black male, about 20 years old, with shoulder length dreadlocks entered his home uninvited. The reported victim said he was awoken by the man entering his house, was not expecting visitors, and suspected the man was a burglar.
The reported victim confronted the uninvited man, who fled out the front door. The reported victim said he shot at the man as he was fleeing in a vehicle.
Investigators continue to interview witnesses to determine a vehicle description.
