[ARCHIVED] KFC Attempted Robbery

On November 18th, at approximately 9:00pm, the Lafayette Police Department responded to the Kentucky Fried Chicken at 2711 Teal Road. Lafayette Police Dispatch received a complaint of a male entering the store with a handgun. During the investigation, an extensive search of the area was conducted. Officers learned that two black males participated in what is being investigated as a robbery attempt. Witnesses reported that a black male wearing a grey hoodie, jeans, and bandana came into the store and fired a handgun.

Officers utilized the assistance of West Lafayette Police and Tippecanoe County Community Correction K9s in the area searches for the suspects. The Lafayette Police Department continues to investigate this case and follow up leads. No persons were injured during the attempted robbery.
