[ARCHIVED] Spice Drug Arrest

On February 11th, at approximately 8:37pm, officers with the Lafayette Police Department Street Crimes Unit attempted to serve an arrest warrant at 1001-3 Roberts St. Rufus Duncan was identified as the wanted subject. While on scene and standing outside the front door, officers detected the strong odor of synthetic marijuana emitting from inside the residence. A search warrant was obtained and served at the dwelling.

The residence was searched and officers recovered over nine pounds of synthetic marijuana, 131 grams of marijuana, scales for weighing the drugs, and a large sum of money.

Duncan was arrested for a petition to revoke probation warrant with the initial charge of strangulation, dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana, dealing in a synthetic drug, and possession of a synthetic drug.

The fact a person has been arrested or charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
