On Thursday, June 1st, at around 2:10 pm, Lafayette Police responded to a report of a suicidal subject in the 700 block of South 29th Street.  The person suffering the mental health condition made threats toward officers and police were concerned about weapons in the home.   When officers arrived to check the well-being of the suicidal subject, people inside house refused to cooperate with the police.

With the help of police negotiators, the suicidal subject exited the home and the other people inside the house were verified to be safe.  The suicidal subject was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.   There were no injuries reported during this incident.
