[ARCHIVED] Street Crime Unit Drug Investigation - Arrests Made

For Immediate Release:                 

   July 5th, 2017 

                                                                                                                                             

On June 26th, Lafayette Police Department Street Crimes Unit received a We-Tip in regards to drug activity taking place at 1911 Jackson St.  The Street Crimes Unit conducted a narcotics investigation at this location.  After obtaining a search warrant for the location, officers seized over 7 pounds of synthetic marijuana, over $600 cash, 37 grams of marijuana, and 3 firearms.  Two persons were arrested for various drug related charges.    

Jahmal Moore was arrested for possession and dealing of synthetic marijuana, possession and dealing of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, and maintaining a common nuisance.

Kiersten Collier was arrested for possession of synthetic marijuana and visiting a common nuisance.

The Lafayette Police Department would like to thank all concerned citizens who report suspicious activity in the city and recognize the invaluable community partnerships needed to keep our city safe.

The fact a person has been arrested or charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
