Pinning Ceremony for Sergeant Withers and Sergeant Sherer


Sergeant Brandon Withers and Sergeant Randy Sherer were promoted to the rank of Sergeant by the Lafayette Police Merit Commission on June 14th 2017.  The Lafayette Police Department will hold a pinning ceremony at 2 pm on Friday July 28th 2017 in the city council chambers. 


Sergeant Withers is a 12 year veteran of the department and is a member of the SWAT team.  He serves as an instructor for the department and has served as a field training officer and detective.  Sergeant Withers was promoted from the patrol division.


Sergeant Sherer is an 11 year veteran of the department and is a member of the SWAT team.  Sergeant Sherer was previously a field training officer.  Sherer was promoted from the detective division. 


Both sergeants have been assigned to the patrol division.
