Investigation ongoing for battery resulting in death


On September 16th, 2017 at approximately 0200 hours the Lafayette Police Department responded to the 2900 block of Remington Drive for a report of a male that was found unresponsive behind a residence.  The male was identified as Jamal Chin (30) of Lafayette. 


Chin was transported to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment of his injuries.  On September 17th Chin died of his injuries.  No further information will be released at this time due to an ongoing investigation.  There is no active threat to the community.
