Drug task force investigation results in arrest


 

On October 8th, 2017, the Tippecanoe Drug Task Force arrested Matthew Speziale (36), for two counts of Dealing in a Narcotic Drug, two counts of Possession of Narcotic Drug, two counts of Dealing Methamphetamine, and two counts of Possession of Methamphetamine.  Speziale sold heroin and methamphetamine to a Confidential Informant and an Undercover Detective on several occasions in 2017. 


Speziale was located in Lafayette at a local business in the 4200 block of Commerce Dr.  At the time of his arrest, Speziale was in possession of several grams of methamphetamine and heroin.  Speziale was transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail. 


Speziale was accompanied by Christine Surface (25) at the time of his arrest.  During the investigation it was discovered that Surface was in possession of illegal narcotics.  Surface was arrested for Possession of a Syringe, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of a legend drug.  Surface was transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail.


The Drug Task Force works diligently to investigate and bring individuals involved in narcotic sales to justice. This is the third arrest of heroin/methamphetamine dealers in less than a week and more arrests are expected.

The fact a person has been arrested or charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
