Serious Violent Felon Arrested for Battery with Deadly Weapon
On October 27th, 2017 at approximately 1:00 am the Lafayette Police Department responded to a home in the 500 block of South 16th St for a report of a person that had been battered by a handgun. The victim, Aaron Mason stated that someone entered his home and struck him with a firearm after an argument. Mason suffered injuries to his face, he was treated and later released at a local hospital.
Lafayette Police arrested Donte Martell Williams (28) at his residence in the 1600 block of Perdue St. He was arrested for battery by means of a deadly weapon, serious violent felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, felony intimidation, and carrying a handgun without a permit. Williams was transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail.
