Shots fired complaint leads to drug arrests
On Sunday, November 5th, at about 5:00 PM, the Lafayette Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 1900 block of Windemere Drive. Officers arrived to interview witnesses and collect case facts. Police located spent shell casings and identified where rounds had struck an apartment building on Brampton Drive. No one was struck by bullets and no injuries were reported.
Police obtained a search warrant to search an apartment believed to be related to the shots fired complaint in order to gather further evidence in the case. During the search police found a firearm, ammunition, and drugs.
Police arrested William Anthony Todd (30) for dealing a narcotic, dealing marijuana, possession of a narcotic, possession of marijuana, and maintaining a common nuisance. Delray Tyrece Jackson (26) was arrested for possession of marijuana, and visiting a common nuisance. Devin Lovell Haney was arrested for visiting a common nuisance (22) and Jailand Haney was arrested for visiting a common nuisance (23).
