[ARCHIVED] Stabbing Investigation

On the above date, at approximately 12:40 am, the Lafayette Police Department received a call about a subject who had been stabbed at a residence near the intersection of South Street and South 26th Street.  Officers arrived at the scene and located one male with a stab wound to the abdomen.  The wound had occurred during an altercation inside a residence.  The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment.  The injury is not believed to be life-threatening.  Officers collected evidence and are continuing to interview witnesses.  The suspect is outstanding and officers are working on obtaining a description.  This incident is not believed to be a random act.
