[ARCHIVED] Joshua Balser Arrested for Stabbing

On the above date, at approximately 9:32pm, the Lafayette Police Department received a call of a stabbing that occurred near the intersection of Main St and Asher St.  Officers arrived at the scene and located one male victim with multiple stab wounds.  The victim was awake and able to speak with officers.  He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.  The suspect was identified as Joshua Balser (37 years old and of Lafayette).  Officers located Joshua near the incident, inside a residence.  He was taken into custody and later transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail.  He was arrested for the following:


Aggravated Battery, a Level 3 Felony


The victim and suspect in this incident were acquainted, and it was not a random act.  The investigation is ongoing.  Anybody with further information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Lafayette Police Department (807-1200) or the We-Tip Hotline (800-78-CRIME).
