The award, for work done on Brown Street in downtown Lafayette, was presented at the annual INASFM conference held September 5-7, 2018 in Evansville, Indiana.
The Brown Street project is a great example of how Lafayette Renew exemplifies the attributes of their rebranding phase. The planning, design and implementation was performed in a manner that delivered so much more to the customers they serve and provided an example of a balance between “Green” and “Gray” infrastructure. As part of the Brown Street Project, Lafayette Renew engaged Bowen Engineering, Greeley and Hansen, and D2 Land and Water Resource to address both the mandated CSO control as well as neighborhood flooding and beautification by utilizing green infrastructure to infiltrate stormwater run-off into the aquifer. The City of Lafayette and Lafayette Renew are honored to be recognized by the prestigious INASFM group whose mission is education and advocating for responsible floodplain and stormwater management.
