Search warrant leads to dealing arrest
On January 9th, 2019 at 1:36am officers from the Lafayette Police Department investigated an anonymous tip that illegal drug activity was taking place at 923 N 9th St, Lafayette, IN. During the course of the investigation, officers were able to stop subjects leaving the residence, and were able to determine that illegal activity was in fact taking place inside.
A search warrant for the residence was issued. During the search, Garry Boze Jr (47) was located inside, and it was determined that he resided there. A search of the residence turned up a significant quantity of illegal narcotics, cash, and a handgun.
The following items were seized:
338 grams of spice
$3,559 in cash
9mm handgun
16 types of prescription drugs
Various paraphernalia
Garry Boze was arrested for the following charges:
Serious violent felon in possession of a handgun
Dealing in spice
Possession of spice
Possession of paraphernalia
Maintaining a common nuisance
Possession of a legend drug.
Boze was arrested without incident and was transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail.
