LPD Student of the Month Program
The Lafayette Police Department in partnership with the Lafayette School Corporation is introducing a new program to recognize an outstanding student each month. This program is focusing on students in grades K-4th in the Lafayette School Corporation. The goal is to promote success in and out of the classroom.
This program is designed so that any student regardless of academic ability can receive the award. Students will be selected that possess qualities ranging from academic success, leadership, and positive citizenship within the school and community. This program will be facilitated by the LPD School Resource Officer, along with the Principal from each school.
Academic:
-Class participation
-Completing all work
-Makes significant progress in the classroom
-Goes above and beyond basic expectations
Character:
-Respectful to peers and teachers
-Displays excellent character
-Good citizenship throughout the year
-Follows school rules and expectations
-Demonstrates responsibility
Personal Achievement:
-Volunteered at school or within the community
-Partook in a random act of kindness to fellow student or community member
Students will be nominated by the school faculty and administration. The winning student will be presented with a certificate recognizing their accomplishments. Through the gracious support of Goodrich Quality Theaters, each student will also be provided with a pair of free movie passes.
The first presentation of this award will take place Friday January 25th at 1:30pm. The presentation will take place at Vinton Elementary.
