[ARCHIVED] Mayor's Youth Council applications are being accepted until September 27, 2019

MYC provides high school students the opportunity to advise the Mayor on youth-related issues, learn about city government and volunteer with community organizations.  Students who are appointed by the Mayor and City Clerk will be able to impact the local community through special projects and initiatives.  Past projects include designing the official flag for the City of Lafayette, a community-wide recycling awareness campaign, public art displays and installments, designing wraps for City vehicles and designing banners for light poles on Veterans Memorial Parkway. Future projects will be determined through discussions of issues facing youth and the City.

If you are a high school student who would like to have a voice in the community and interact with other civic-minded youth, please consider applying. Applications are due September 27, 2019 and can be found online at http://lafayette.in.gov/692/Youth-Council. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and residents of Tippecanoe County.

For more information, contact City Clerk Cindy Murray at cmurray@lafayette.in.gov or call (765) 807-1021.
