Lafayette Police Arrest Robbery Suspect

On January 12th, 2020 at 11:38 pm the Lafayette Police Department responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery that took place in the 900 block of S 19th St.  The victim reported that he had arranged to meet a person at this location to sell merchandise.  The victim gave the merchandise to the suspect in exchange for money.  After this took place the suspect pulled a handgun and brass knuckles and demanded money and other property from the victim.  The victim refused and the suspect ran away on foot. 

On Wednesday January 15th, 2020 at 11:16 pm, the Lafayette Police Department arrested Hector Casanova Jr (20) at 907 S 20th St, Lafayette, IN.  Casanova was preliminarily charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, and attempted robbery.  Casanova also had a warrant out for his arrest through the Purdue University Police Department.
