The Human Resources Department is responsible for all employment issues within the City of Lafayette and currently supports 19 Departments with a total employment of over 500 employees.

The department is responsible for the administration of employee benefit programs such as health insurance, including medical, dental, and vision; and life insurance and retirement plans. These benefits are administered for active and former employees.

 

Many other aspects of employment are maintained and administered from within the Human Resources Department. These include: City Employee Policies and Procedures, Salary Administration, Union/Labor Relations, Training, and Performance Management.

Employment opportunities are made available through a job posting process. All job postings may be found on the City Hall bulletin board located on the first floor of the building, within each of the Departments, and on the City of Lafayette website. Jobs are posted as they become available and applications are accepted ONLY FOR OPEN POSITIONS by using the Online Application for General Employment.
