In addition to stimulus checks sent to taxpayers, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act is meant to address the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic by expanding unemployment insurance and giving borrowers more time to make home and student loan payments. Due to receiving an allocation of $394,084 from the CARES Act, the City of Lafayette is proposing substantial amendments to the 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan, the 2019 Action Plan, and the Citizen Participation Plan. The City of Lafayette is also proposing to add a goal to the 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan to increase flexibility should additional funding become available. Please click on the following link for more information on the amendments http://lafayette.in.gov/2044/Federal-Grant-Administration-HOME-CDBG. These amendments will be reviewed by the Lafayette City Council at their meeting on May 4th, 2020 at 6:30 pm.
