• Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 11:06 pm

The Lafayette Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery occurring behind the Pizza King at 1400 Teal Road. A Pizza King employee reported he was accosted outside the back exit by a thin, white male, late teens / early 20’s, pointing what appeared to be a gun at him. A struggle ensued until a larger white male entered the fray, coming out from behind a wall, where he had been hiding. The larger male punched the Pizza King employee in an effort to steal a cash. The suspects stole money from the Pizza King employee and fled. The suspects were observed leaving the area in an older blue Ford truck. No injuries were sustained as a result of struggle or robbery.

Investigators collected evidence at the scene and obtained witness statements. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lafayette Police Department at (765) 807-1200 or the anonymous We-Tip Hotline at (800) 78-CRIME.
