Operation Trick or Treat has partnered with Bonz Barb BQ Sauce to be part of Halloweentown. This event is from 4:30 to 6:15 pm where kids can Trick or Treat down Main Street from 11th down to Riehle Plaza. Operation Trick or Treat is a family-friendly event. Downtown businesses will pass out treats and interact with visitors. The event will end with a costume contest taking place at 6:30 pm. We hope you will make plans to join in some Halloweentown fun and experience a spooktacular time in downtown Lafayette.
The following is a comprehensive schedule of the events:
Saturday, October 29, 2016: HALLOWEENTOWN 2016
3:00 pm: Registration begins on the East side of the Pedestrian Bridge for Zombie Stomp Hop n Crawl Halloweentown 2016. $5 per Body to stomp
4:00 pm: Zombie Stomp starts on West end of the Pedestrian Bridge. Party starts when the Zombies get to the Depot.
4:00 - 8:00 pm: Spirits Lounge in Depot by Sgt. Preston's. Participants for the Lounge must be 21 yrs + and there is a $5 cover charge. Bloody Mary drink specials/Vampires.
4:30 - 6:15 pm: Operation Trick or Treat; from 11th Street down to Plaza
6:30 pm: Costume Judging. Mayor's Choice, Best Zombie, Best Vampire, Cutest, BONZ Choice.
8:00 pm: Grand Finale - Community "Flash Mob" on the plaza to "Thriller".
On Saturday, October 15, 2016: Studio b (736 N 9th Street) will host a THRILLER Dance Clinic for anyone that wants to learn the dance to Thriller by Michael Jackson. A community flash mob doing Thriller will be the grand finale at 8:00 pm in Halloweentown.
A Bonz Production in its 2nd year. This year they are thanking the community for supporting them throughout the year by bringing awareness about abuses in our community. This year is the Year of the Vampire and the focus is on elder abuse. The message is ”Elder Abuse Sucks!” Halloweentown will kick off a campaign throughout the next year to bring education to elder abuse in our community.
Sgt Preston's is providing spirits, food will be available via Smolder BBQ. There will be a DJ on the Plaza provided by Synyst3r Productions. Candy will be available for the kids.
