On December 8, 2016, at 12:01am, the Lafayette Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery that occurred in the parking lot of Walmart, 2347 Veterans Memorial Pkwy S. The caller, Jerald Leuck reported that he was robbed at gunpoint by a black male that was the passenger in a white car. The black male was accompanied by a white male and white female. Officers located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at N 9th St and Ferry St a short time later. Arrested from the vehicle were Hunter Evans, Dayquan Johnson, and Mark Daugherty. Officers located drugs and a stolen handgun in the vehicle.
After further investigation into the original complaint, the reporting party was also arrested for false informing, dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance.
