July 07, 2015 – Lafayette, IN Construction of a new presentation area next to the IU Health Arnett Family Farm at the Columbian Park Zoo has begun and will be a great addition to the Zoo. The structure is sponsored by the Lafayette Kiwanis Club and will facilitate a variety of live demonstrations including live animal presentations. This new presentation area will be called the “Kiwanis Education Station”.
The Kiwanis Education Station will include a small presentation platform, overhead shade, mobile cabinets, and electrical sources. Courtney Nave, Education Assistant says the education team is very excited about this new addition, “We are thrilled that the Kiwanis Club has sponsored the Education Station, and our staff as well as zoo patrons are going to love having a designated education area outside for viewing many of our animal ambassadors. We are excited to use this structure to put on educational presentations, have animal encounters and provide new and exciting experiences for the community.”
The Kiwanis Education Station completion date will be late summer 2015.
Individuals, families, and businesses can support the Zoo by becoming members of the Friends of the Columbian Park Zoo or participating in one of the many sponsorship opportunities that are available.
