Bank Robbery Arrest
Lafayette Police investigated two bank robberies in late 2016, Lafayette Bank & Trust on Maple Points Drive, occurring on November 18th and Lafayette Community Bank on Cougill Lane on December 17th. Police collected surveillance video of the incidents and believed the same suspect may have committed both robberies. Through case facts, evidence, and tips from the public, detectives developed leads and obtained an arrest warrant for 56-year-old Zack Hitchings of Indianapolis.
Hitchings was arrested in Brunswick, Georgia on a state parole warrant, as well as the Lafayette Police warrant for robbery. Hitchings was transported from Georgia to the Tippecanoe County jail.
