[ARCHIVED] Burglary Arrest on Julia Ln

On Sunday, June 18th, at approximately 5:30am, Lafayette police officers responded to the 900-block of Julia Ln in regards to a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers met with the female victim and were advised that a male had entered her residence while she was sleeping. She awoke to find the male exposing himself and demanding oral sex. The female was able to flee the residence and call police. The suspect also fled the residence. The male was described as a black male and wearing dark clothing.


While searching for the suspect in the neighborhood, officers were advised that a subject matching the original description had entered another residence in the 3900-block of Sickle Ct. The second victim advised that he had been sleeping on the couch and found the male in his hallway after he woke up. He yelled at the suspect who then fled out the back door.


Officers located a male matching the description near Julia Ln and Sickle Ct. After investigating and collecting all available evidence, officers arrested the suspect, identified as Jamaar Todd (24-years-old and from Chicago, IL). He was arrested for Burglary, Sexual Battery, and Criminal Confinement. He was subsequently transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail.
