Vehicle /Pedestrian Crash Investigation

On Saturday July 22, 2017, at approximately 9:30 PM, the Lafayette Police Department responded to a reported serious personal injury crash in the 1900 block of Elmwood Avenue.  Police arrived and investigated the incident, finding a vehicle had struck an adult female pedestrian, while the pedestrian was crossing the street.


The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.  The Lafayette Police Department traffic division assisted patrol with this investigation, as did the Lafayette Fire Department and Tippecanoe County EMS.  A portion of Elmwood Avenue was closed for approximately two hours during the investigation, but has since reopened.
