Driving lane, parking & sidewalk closures for the Ellsworth Project construction 12/28/20 to 7/29/22

Construction of the Ellsworth Project, closures for construction, deliveries, hoisting and trash removal from 12/28/20 to 7/29/22. Closure locations: South Street sidewalk and parking from 4th Street to 5th Street; 5th Street Southbound lane and sidewalk; Alabama Street Westbound lane and sidewalk. Detail summary of closures: Installing jersey barriers with chain link fence on top of barriers, closing off parking and sidewalk on the South side of South Street from the entry into Regions Bank parking lot, East to 5th Street; then the Southbound lane and sidewalk on 5th Street from South Street to Alabama Street; then the Westbound lane and sidewalk on Alabama Street from 5th Street to 4th Street. Public Safety Building and Garage Project traffic control, 601 Columbia Street between 6th Street and 7th Street. 6th Street between Columbia Street and South Street will be closed to all traffic except police. 7th Street between Columbia Street and South Street, one-way Northbound. Traffic Disruption - Main St between 6th and 7th St.

From April 1st to October 1, there will be traffic disruptions on Main St between 6th and 7th St. While traffic may be maintained in both directions, there will be interruptions for the tower crane operating space, loading and unloading for wood framing, and semi trailers. Closure - Parking Lanes on Chestnut and 1st St.

From April 8 to June 24, the parking lane of the West side of Chestnut street and the parking lane of 1st st to install and pressurize new gas mains. Closure - Elm St, Warehouse St, and Wabash Ave

From April 28 to June 24, there will be a closure of both lanes of Warehouse and Elm St at the intersection for the five week period. Lane Restriction - Poland Hill Rd, S 9th St, Ortman Ln, and Twykenham

From May 9th to July 1st, there will be several lane restrictions in the Dover Estates subdivision to repair the roads and replace wheelchair ramps. These will be from Poland Hill Rd to South 9th St to Ortman Lane, to Twykenham Blvd. These repairs will not close the roads, but there will be restrictions on traffic around the area while work is being done. From May 16 to May 27, there will be a single lane closure - merging traffic to the left lane - around 2503 Union St. for a utility pole replacement. Closure - Creasy Ln and Eisenhower Rd

From May 16th to June 6th, there will be single lane closures on Creasy lane (North of Greenbush) and Eisenhower Rd (West of bridge at I-65) while crews locate utilities and begin the installation of a Force Main. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic, but please expect delays if traveling on Creasy Lane North of Greenbush st. Special Event - Farmer's Market

For all Saturdays between May 7th and October 29th of 2022, the Lafayette Farmer's Market will take place from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with open market hours running from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM During this time, 5th St, between Main and Columbia and Main and Ferry will be closed to traffic and parking. Closure - 3rd St.

On May 21st, the entire lane and sidewalk will be closed at 3rd St between Columbia and South St. to allow for the set up of a crane and the removal of steel beams and concrete from the roof of the county building. This crane will take up both lanes of traffic on 3rd st. and is expected to have work completed by noon. In the event of inclement weather or other delays, this work may be moved to Sunday as well. Proper signs will be in place to alert traffic and pedestrians, including cones and caution tape, but there will not be flagmen. Special Event - LTHC Homeless Services Motorcycle Ride and Registration

On May 21st, LTHC Homeless Services will be hosting a motorcycle registration and ride. This event will take place on 12th St between Union and Salem. The street and sidewalks will be closed for this event, and barricades will be up to direct vehicles. Special Event - World Vision Global 6K

On May 21, the Evangelical Covenant Church of Lafayette will be hosting the World Vision Global 6K for water from 9:00 AM to Noon. The route will begin at the church, head South on 9th St, and turn into the Valley Forge neighborhood. Once in the neighborhood, participants will continue on pedestrian walkways. Attendance is expected to be around 100 persons, and they will use the streets and sidewalks. Traffic control will be present to alert and redirect vehicles.
