Workreation is a volunteer program for kids ages 7 to 17 years of age. The program offers children the opportunity to perform light cleaning and maintenance in the parks in exchange for a "Kids Can Pass".
Kids may volunteer 1 hour per day at either Columbian Park, Castaway Bay, or Vinton Pool. For each hour of work, the kids receive one Kids Can Pass. Each Kids Can Pass can be used for admission to any of the aquatic facilities or on the rides at Columbian Park.
Workreation gives kids the chance to contribute to the community, help keep the parks maintained, and learn teamwork and responsibility while enjoying some summer fun!
All participants must have a parent-signed registration form on file with the Parks Department. 2018 registration forms will be available soon. Check back at a later date.
Registration forms can also be picked up at the park office in Columbian Park AFTER Memorial Day. Please turn the completed form in to the Workreation Coordinator when the child attends the Workreation Program.
For more information, please call the Parks Administrative Office at 765-807-1500.
The Program starts Monday, June 4 and ends Friday, August 3.
The expectation is that children be dropped off and picked up no more than 15 minutes before/after the program begins/ends. Failure to comply will result in dismissal from the program.
